Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- How many genes can EXCAVATOR handle?
It depends on the options used in EXCAVATOR and the memory
of your machine. For less than 500 genes, basically any options
would work. For more than 500 genes, some options, e.g., "-g",
generally take very long computing time. For more than 5000
genes, EXCAVATOR also requires a large memory (~1GB), and
you may want to filter out some unimportant data before clustering.
The current version of EXCAVATOR cannot handle more than 10,000
genes for clustering.
