Pathway analysis

OBJECTIVE

  • Protein pathway analysis based on Aracyc was applied to the phosphoproteins. Our objective is to find out whether protein phosphorylation is rich in some particular pathways.

METHOD:

  • To utilize Aracyc, we first found the othologs of the oilseed rape phosphoproteins in TAIR7 by reciprocal BLAST with e-value cutoff of 10-10.
  • All the locus ID of the othologs were then upload to Aracyc online service to map the proteins to pathways in Aracyc.

RESULT:

  • By reciprocal BLAST (e-vlaue: 10-10), we found 2244 orthologs in Arabidopsis thaliana (TAIR7).
  • Mapping these 2244 orthologs to Aracyc, 600 genes can be found in Aracyc database, which is shown in this page.
  • Result shows that phosphorylation is rich in some pathways such as Glycolytic pathway, Sucrose degradation pathway, Calvin cycle and some other more.
