Cross-species conservation analysis
OBJECTIVE
- By analyzing the cross-species conservation of the phosphorylytion sites,
we anticipate to gain knowledge about functional conservation of protein phosphorylation.
|
|
METHOD:
- By BLAST (E-value cutoff 0.005), we first found out othologs of each oilseed rape phosphoprotein in 11 species from plants, mammals, fungi to bacteria:
- Arabidopsis thaliana
- Glycine max
- Ricinus communis
- Populus trichocarpa
- Oryza sativa
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae
- Caenorhabditis elegans
- Drosophila melanogaster
- Homo sapiens
- Synechocystis sp. PCC6803
- Escherichia coli
- For all the orthologs of each oilseed rape phosphoprotein, we then checked whether the phosphorylation sites are conserved or not.
|
|
RESULT:
- Totally, we found 8 phosphorylation sites in oilseed rape data are conserved in all 11 species; 14 in 10 species.
- The conservation result is available for downloading.
